Patna High Court Advocates’ Association Election: Focus on Women Candidates as Chhaya Mishra and Ranjana Srivastava Raise Key Issues

Patna :The atmosphere around the Patna High Court Advocates’ Association election has intensified ahead of the voting scheduled for April 17. With close contests expected for key posts such as President, General Secretary, and others, the growing prominence of women candidates has also become a major talking point this year.

Among them, Vice President candidate Chhaya Mishra and Joint Secretary candidate Ranjana Srivastava are drawing attention for their strong agendas and experience.

Chhaya Mishra: Focus on Pension and Healthcare

Chhaya Mishra has made advocates’ welfare the centerpiece of her campaign. She highlighted that many lawyers struggle with serious health issues after retirement but lack adequate financial and medical support.

She emphasized the urgent need to ensure pension schemes, health insurance, and basic welfare facilities for advocates. Referring to her previous electoral performance, Mishra said she had received strong support from the legal community and is hopeful of securing even more votes this time.
“We have always fought for the rights of advocates and will continue to do so,” she said.

Ranjana Srivastava: Continuing the Fight for Rights

Joint Secretary candidate Ranjana Srivastava is also banking on her track record and grassroots work. During her previous tenure, she actively raised issues concerning advocates as well as court staff.

She pointed out her efforts in advocating for the rights of fourth-grade employees, dress code policies, and other essential facilities. Like Mishra, Srivastava is also focusing on pension and social security for advocates.
“I have always worked for rights and will continue to do so with full dedication,” she said, expressing confidence in her victory.

Tight Contest, Results on April 18

A total of 5,262 voters will cast their votes in the election, with 109 candidates contesting for 29 posts, making the contest multi-cornered and highly competitive. The counting of votes will take place on April 18.

All eyes are now on whether women candidates will translate their strong campaigns and key issues into electoral success.
